The Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI) is honored to announce that William Precht, an expert in coral ecology and restoration, has joined its newly established Independent Scientific Committee. This committee is a new initiative designed to enhance the quality and impact of the institute’s work.
The committee’s primary role will be to serve as an advisory body to CCMI’s research team. Mr. Precht will contribute by providing guidance on current topics and trends in marine science and advising on research proposals. His expertise will be invaluable in helping to advance CCMI’s mission to protect and restore our oceans through cutting-edge science and education. Additionally, members will help identify potential funding opportunities to support ongoing and future research efforts.
Gretchen Goodbody-Gringley, Director of Research at CCMI, stated that the institute is “honored” to have Mr. Precht contribute to this effort. His insights and experience will be a key part of the new committee, which will also work to promote CCMI as a premier fieldwork destination for marine researchers.
