Daniel joined Spangler Environmental as on Environmental Technician in September 2024 as a team member of the Natural Resources Group. Daniel’s primary responsibilities include assisting with wetland delineations, stream delineations, Threatened & Endangered Species memos, permitting applications, and storm water inspections. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

During his pursuit of his degree, Daniel participated in a Capstone Research project. As part of a student group, he conducted research for the UNC Institute of Marine Science (IMS) on Phillips Island (Beaufort, NC). He assisted in characterizing present and historic bird usage of Phillips Island. This included conducting International Shorebird Surveys, setting camera traps, reviewing camera trap footage, analyzing historical colonial waterbird nesting data against GIS imagery of habitat cover on the island, and comparing American Oystercatcher data to historic data in sites across NC.
